Welcome to BK’s Magnolia Motor Lodge owned by Brian and Kathy Greensides of Wanganui and managed by Debbie Eveleigh.
Brian and Kathy came to New Zealand from Canada in 2002 as permanent NZ residents. Brian is Canadian by birth and Kathy is British even though she lived in Canada for more than 20 years.
We have two grown children – Evan 33 and Nicole 41, both living and working in Wanganui/Manawatu. Our wider families live in Canada and Scotland.
We had a desire to leave the big city rush of Toronto and come to a smaller town in beautiful New Zealand. After living in New Plymouth for four and a half years, we bought the motel business in Wanganui and have now lived here since 2006.
We became New Zealand citizens in 2008 at Whanganui District Council and were welcomed into citizenship by the controversial mayor Michael Laws.
New Zealand is our permanent home, and we intend to stay in Wanganui on a permanent basis. We love the pace of life here!
Kathy currently works three days per week at the Whanganui District Museum as a Collections Assistant and Photographer. Brian works part time at the motel. We have been married for over 30 years and love to travel throughout the Pacific and around the world.
We welcome you to our motel and we'll do everything we can to ensure you enjoy your stay.
Our manager Debbie Eveleigh is a NZ citizen and has many years of experience in the hospitality industry including six years at BK's Magnolia.
